Vaclav Cerny has appealed to Rangers fans to unite behind the team and move away from boos as frustrations grow following a challenging period. The Czech winger has faced criticism from supporters in recent weeks, particularly after his missed chances contributed to a disappointing 4-1 defeat against Lyon.
After last week’s win over Hibs at Ibrox, Cerny, 25, responded to the crowd’s displeasure, expressing his frustration. However, Cerny silenced his critics with a standout performance on Sunday, scoring twice to lead Rangers to a 2-1 victory over St Johnstone. With a two-week break ahead of a challenging match against Kilmarnock after the international break, Cerny is eager to start afresh.
“The supporters have all the rights, but from my point of view, it should be to support,” Cerny stated. “I feel I speak for everyone when I say we all want to give our best every single time. Sometimes I don’t think they realize that.”
Reflecting on his recent struggles, he added, “It’s been tough for someone like me, who is always willing to give my all—and sometimes I show it too much. I made a bad reaction, but it was because I want to help the team as much as I can.”
Cerny emphasized his dedication to the club, saying, “That’s just me, I want to do the best I can every time. Once you guys get to know me a bit better, you will see that. I always demand the best from me, and the two chances I’ve missed were big ones; I know that, but it’s in the past.”
