Journalist Chris Jack has cast doubt on Nicolas Raskin’s prospects of leaving Rangers for a move “onwards and upwards” amid the Belgian midfielder’s desire to play in the Premier League.
Despite expressing that ambition last year, Raskin has struggled for game time this season, with just two Premiership starts under Philippe Clement.
Writing for The Rangers Review, Jack suggested that Raskin’s focus now needs to be on securing his place at Ibrox, rather than planning his next career step.
“A statement made in an interview this time last year when Raskin expressed his desire to one day play in the Premier League is often used to denigrate him by his detractors,” Jack wrote. “The former Standard Liege midfielder does not look destined for a move onwards and upwards at present. Indeed, it is his Ibrox future that he must focus on, and that he is perhaps fighting for.”
