Rangers are facing a mounting crisis as their poor form continues to plague them this season. The Gers have suffered a series of disappointing results, including heavy defeats to Celtic and Lyon, which have raised serious concerns about their ability to compete at the highest level.
According to Keith Jackson of the Daily Record, Dessers’s struggles are a “huge problem” for Rangers. The journalist noted that the striker’s touch seems to desert him when he tries harder, leading to a breakdown in communication between the midfield and attack.
As a result, Rangers are reportedly considering reigniting their interest in Lawrence Shankland in the January transfer window. The striker, who has been in impressive form for Hearts, could provide the attacking spark that the Gers have been missing.
Rangers were linked with a move for the Hearts talisman throughout the summer and even dating back to last January have been credited with an interest.
The Jambos have found themselves in a bit of a predicament this term with the side currently sat rock bottom of the Scottish Premiership.
Shankland hasn’t found his goalscoring boots as quickly as he did last term as the Scotsman only has one goal to his name across all competitions.
