Kris Boyd has voiced strong criticism of Rangers after their disappointing 1-0 defeat at Kilmarnock, claiming the team has shown no signs of improvement since Philippe Clement took charge.
Rangers missed a crucial opportunity to close the gap on Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic, who dropped points against Aberdeen on Saturday. Marley Watkins’ late goal secured victory for Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, leaving Clement’s side in third place, six points behind both Celtic and Aberdeen after eight games this season.
Boyd, a Sky Sports pundit, reflected on the situation post-match, noting, “We sat here last year and said it wasn’t good enough under Michael Beale. I don’t see any improvement. I really don’t see any improvement.”
Despite having talented players, Boyd expressed concerns about the team’s overall performance, stating, “Rangers have good players in this team, but they never dominate matches. There is no style to anything they do.”
He continued to emphasize the team’s struggles in front of goal, saying, “Rangers were toothless in attack. If results continue the way they are, there are big questions which are going to be asked. Rangers are not progressing as a football club.”
