Rangers fans have erupted in anger following manager Philippe Clement’s comments about goalkeeper Jack Butland after their 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
The Gers fell to a late Marley Watkins goal at Rugby Park, with Butland left exposed after a defensive mix-up. Clement, speaking to Sky Sports after the match, attributed the goal to the goalkeeper’s positioning: “Jack was caught in no-man’s land in that moment. It’s the small details. We need to learn from that.”
However, Rangers supporters were quick to criticize Clement’s assessment, arguing that Butland had played well throughout the match and was not solely responsible for the goal. Many took to social media to express their frustration with the manager, questioning his leadership and his ability to unite the team.
The defeat has further increased pressure on Clement, whose side are now six points behind Celtic and Aberdeen in the league table. With the fans growing increasingly discontent, the manager’s position is becoming increasingly precarious.
