Former Rangers Striker Expresses Concerns Over Club’s Progress Under Clement

Former Rangers striker Billy Dodds has raised alarms about the club’s performance this season under manager Philippe Clement, suggesting that they appear to have regressed.

Clement aimed to reshape the Rangers squad during the summer transfer window, but faced challenges due to financial constraints. Despite this, he secured several key signings, including Robin Propper, Jefte, Connor Barron, Vaclav Cerny, Nedim Bajrami, and Hamza Igamane.

However, the team’s performances have come under scrutiny, with Rangers failing to qualify for the Champions League and losing ground to rivals Celtic and Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership. The recent defeat at Kilmarnock has intensified the focus on the club’s trajectory.

“They look like they have regressed, that’s the worrying thing,” Dodds stated after the match on BBC Sportsound. “The Rangers fans got right behind them today, trying to get them going halfway through that second half, and they still never responded.”

Dodds highlighted that while it’s possible to have an off day, the team’s attitude is crucial. “You can come to Rugby Park and not put in your best performance, but the attitude has to be right, and Rangers’ attitude wasn’t right; Kilmarnock’s was,” he added.
