Connor Barron Backs Rangers for Title Push After Europa League Victory

Rangers midfielder Connor Barron believes that Thursday’s commanding 4-0 win over FCSB in the Europa League highlights the team’s ability to mount a serious title challenge this season. Barron expressed confidence that Rangers can carry this level of performance into the Scottish Premiership.

“Really convinced [about Rangers’ title chances],” Barron told the Daily Record. “We need to show more of what we did on Thursday night, and we’ll be fine.”

Rangers’ victory over the Romanian side not only showcased their European form but also moved them up to 11th in the Europa League table. However, Barron stressed the importance of maintaining consistency in domestic competitions. “We know what we need to do. We showed a reaction in midweek, but we can’t stop now,” he continued. “That needs to be what we do every week. It can’t just be a one-off performance from us.”

Barron also addressed the pressure surrounding the club, emphasizing the team’s focus amid external noise. “The noise on the outside is just noise,” he added. “That’s not something we can affect. We just need to make sure we do our jobs now, getting three points whenever we play.”

With an eye toward their upcoming fixture, Barron underscored the need to build on their European momentum. “We need to continue this into Sunday against St Mirren,” he said. “The European game is done now, so we go again, move on, and focus on St Mirren.”
