Rangers manager Philippe Clement is reportedly not considering stepping down from his role, despite growing acknowledgment within the club that Celtic are likely to secure the Scottish Premiership title this season.
According to a report from TEAMtalk on 26 November, the Belgian coach, who took over at Ibrox in October, remains committed to his position. The outlet claims Clement is reluctant to forgo the compensation package he would be entitled to should the club decide to part ways with him.
“TEAMtalk can reveal it would be highly unlikely that the 50-year-old would resign and give up his compensation package,” the report stated.
Rangers currently trail their Glasgow rivals by 11 points in the league, leading to widespread speculation about Clement’s future. However, sources cited in the report suggest the club’s hierarchy continues to back the manager, even as the prospect of catching Celtic grows increasingly slim.
“Sources believe there is already an acceptance around the Light Blues that Celtic will win the league, finishing well clear of their Old Firm foes,” TEAMtalk added.
