Kris Boyd has launched a scathing critique of former Rangers chairman Dave King in the wake of the club’s disappointing 2-1 loss to Aberdeen. The defeat has significantly dented Rangers’ hopes of Scottish Premiership success, with Aberdeen now holding a nine-point lead.
In his column for the Scottish Sun, Boyd took aim at King, who has been vocally critical of the Rangers board since John Bennett’s resignation as chairman due to health issues.
“I feel sorry for John Gilligan, who has stepped up as acting chairman,” Boyd wrote. “He’s a true Rangers man and he’ll be hurting at this sorry situation.”
Boyd anticipates that King will seize this moment to push his agenda for a return to the club’s leadership. “Just wait, Dave King will no doubt come out shortly and try again to drive his agenda to get back involved. But he’s another one whose time is up,” Boyd declared.
As tensions rise among the Rangers faithful, the focus now turns to how the club will respond to this setback and who will ultimately steer the ship in the turbulent waters ahead.
