According to renowned Rangers journalist Chris Jack, the Scottish football club is more likely to attract minority external investment rather than a full takeover.
In a recent interview on the Rangers Review YouTube channel, Jack dismissed rumors of a Far East takeover, stating that he has not heard anything to suggest the club is close to such a deal.
“For Rangers to truly bridge the gap with their rivals, they will need a significant injection of external finance,” Jack explained. “Dave King mentioned this to me a few weeks ago, and the question remains: where will this funding come from?”
The journalist believes that any new investment is more likely to come in the form of minority shareholdings, similar to the current ownership structure at Ibrox. “If someone has the money to invest in Rangers, they will want to have a say in how it is spent,” he added. “To have that influence, they need to have a significant shareholding.”
Jack concluded by saying that while there have been rumors of a full takeover, he has not heard anything concrete to suggest that it is imminent.
