Kris Boyd Criticizes Philippe Clement’s Rangers Tenure, Claims No Progress at Ibrox

Kris Boyd has launched a scathing attack on manager Philippe Clement, questioning his tactical approach and the team’s overall progress since his appointment. Boyd’s criticism comes as Rangers currently sit in third place in the Scottish Premiership.

In an interview with the Scottish Sun, Boyd expressed his frustration with Clement’s attempts to justify controversial decisions, such as claiming that John Souttar’s handball against Hibernian was not a penalty.

“What was Clement doing trying to claim John Souttar’s handball wasn’t a penalty against Hibs?” Boyd questioned. “It’s as clear a penalty as you’ll see. It was incredible to try and put forward a case to say that’s not a spot-kick. He was even jumping around at his post-match press conference.”

Boyd also took aim at Clement’s frequent excuses, stating that they are becoming a pattern. “There are too many excuses coming from Clement at the moment. And I reckon a lot of them are pre-empted,” he said.

The former Rangers striker drew a stark contrast between Clement’s management style and that of his predecessor, Giovanni van Bronckhorst. “I don’t remember Giovanni van Bronckhorst moaning about things when Rangers were reaching a European final two and a half years ago,” Boyd noted.

Ultimately, Boyd believes that there has been little improvement under Clement’s leadership. “I just don’t see any progression,” he concluded.
