Twente Respond to Speculation on Rangers Forward Sam Lammers Amid Utrecht Interest

FC Twente have addressed speculation linking them with a move for Rangers forward Sam Lammers.

Lammers is expected to leave Ibrox permanently this summer following a disappointing loan spell at Glasgow. He impressed during his loan stint with FC Utrecht, raising questions about his future under Rangers manager Philippe Clement.

Recent reports suggested FC Twente were interested in signing Lammers, but their technical director, Arnold Bruggink, has poured cold water on those claims for now.

“We also have a very good striker at FC Twente,” Bruggink said. “So, it is not that we need someone there immediately. By the end of the European Championship, things will get going as usual. We are not panicking.”

Utrecht, on the other hand, have been more vocal about their desire to sign Lammers permanently. Their technical director, Jordy Zuidam, reiterated their interest.

“He is a very important link in our team, so we want to go far for him,” Zuidam said. “It is above our ceiling, but we are now looking for a solution.”

It remains to be seen where Lammers will play his football next season, with FC Twente adopting a wait-and-see approach, while Utrecht appear determined to secure his services.
