Sky Sports Show Todd Cantwell Footage at Auchenhowie Amid Injury Worry V Benfica

Rangers have received a major boost with the return of Todd Cantwell to training.

In a video released by Sky Sports on March 13, the attacking midfielder was seen participating in training with the main group after being sidelined for several weeks due to injury. Joining him were Ross McCausland and Scott Wright, both actively engaged in preparations at Auchenhowie ahead of the upcoming game.

The Bears are gearing up to face Benfica in the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie at Ibrox on Thursday, having previously secured a 2-2 draw in Lisbon without Cantwell’s participation. Manager Philippe Clement has faced a plethora of injury challenges since his arrival at Ibrox, and the situation has shown little signs of improvement.

Currently, Danilo, Abdallah Sima, Rabbi Matondo, Dujon Sterling, and Oscar Cortes are all ruled out for Thursday’s match due to injuries in attacking areas, with the Colombian winger facing a two-month absence.

The return of Cantwell and McCausland to training provides the manager with additional options, as Fabio Silva, Cyriel Dessers, Kemar Roofe, and Scott Wright remain the only other fit players in the final third. While Cantwell may not be expected to play a full 90 minutes immediately, his availability to either start or contribute during the game could prove pivotal for the team.
