Sky Sports Journalist Urges Jack Butland to Stay at Rangers Despite Premier League Links

Jack Butland has found himself linked with a return to the English Premier League. However, Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Dan Bardell has urged the Englishman to remain with the Scottish giants.

Butland has been a standout performer for Rangers this season, despite Celtic’s dominance in the Scottish Premiership. In February, The Sun reported that Nottingham Forest had a bid rejected for the keeper. More recently, Belgian outlet DHNet claimed Butland desires a return to England’s top tier.

With the transfer window approaching, Bardell believes staying at Ibrox would be the best decision for Butland’s career.

“Unless Jack’s guaranteed a starting spot elsewhere, I think he should stay put,” Bardell told Ibrox News exclusively. “He’s revitalized his reputation at Rangers, so there’s no need to risk that.”

Bardell highlighted the benefits of remaining at Rangers: “He’s got plenty of football left, Rangers are a fantastic club, and he’s playing in front of passionate fans every week, with potential European competition. Don’t settle for a backup role or a situation where you could struggle.”

Bardell acknowledged the difficulty of finding a starting role in the Premier League: “I don’t see a clear opening for him at the moment, unless a newly promoted team needs an experienced goalkeeper. Jack’s rebuilt himself at Rangers, so if I were him, I wouldn’t be in a rush to leave. It’s been a positive move for him. I think another year at Rangers could further boost his confidence.”
