Rangers Youth Celebrate Cup Win with Special Message from Philippe Clement

Rangers U18s lifted the Scottish Youth Cup trophy last night after a dramatic comeback victory against Aberdeen at Hampden Park. The young Gers fought back from a goal down to secure a 2-1 win, sparking celebrations that were made even sweeter by a surprise visit from the first-team manager, Philippe Clement.

Clement, who was spotted in the stands during the match, took the time to address the victorious squad in the dressing room after the final whistle. Rangers U18s coach Steve Smith revealed Clement’s post-match message, highlighting the young players’ potential.

“The manager came into the dressing room and spoke to the players after the game,” Smith said. “He’s noticed a few players and he said a few things there that he’s really happy with. He saw quality in terms of their technical ability and he also saw that character that they will need at the top end.”

Smith continued, expressing his surprise at Clement’s visit and underlining its significance. “I knew he was coming to the game but I didn’t know he would show up after the game,” Smith admitted. “It tells us a lot about the man he is. He knows a lot of the faces because the boys have had a chance to train with the first team and I’m sure he’ll know a few more after tonight.”
