Rangers Winger Scott Wright Eyed by Sheffield Wednesday as Ibrox Faces Rebuild

Rangers winger Scott Wright could be on his way out of Ibrox this summer, with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday reportedly interested in his services.

According to Mailsport, the Hillsborough club has already registered their interest in the 26-year-old, who has just one year remaining on his contract with the Gers. Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl is said to be an admirer of Wright and is keen to bring him to Yorkshire to compete in England’s second tier.

Wright, who joined Rangers from Aberdeen in 2021, enjoyed a successful start, even starting in the Europa League Final two years ago. However, his playing time has decreased under manager Philippe Clement, who is planning a significant squad overhaul this summer. With five new signings already secured and more on the horizon, Wright could find himself on the fringes at Ibrox.

Given his contract situation, Rangers are open to offers for the winger. Sheffield Wednesday are hoping to secure a deal for Wright before the new season kicks off.
