Rangers Top Target for Deadline Day Named, He Wants to Join Today

Rangers are making a strong push to sign Nedim Bajrami before the transfer window closes, with the club prioritizing a loan-to-buy deal for the Albanian midfielder, according to the Daily Record.

Reports on August 29 indicate that the 24-year-old, who currently plays for Sassuolo, is eager to make the move to Ibrox following his club’s relegation to Serie B. Rangers manager Philippe Clement is keen to bolster his squad, with a central defender also high on his list of priorities as the deadline approaches.

In related transfer news, Ben Davies has completed a loan move to Birmingham City, and deals have been finalized for Scott Wright and Todd Cantwell to join Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers, respectively. These departures, expected to bring in a combined £800,000, could give Rangers some financial flexibility as they pursue Bajrami and other potential signings.

While the negotiations with Sassuolo have reached an advanced stage, as reported by The Rangers Review on August 28, the deal is not yet done. According to Tutto Mercato Web journalist Antonio Parrotto, an initial loan-to-buy offer was rejected by the Italian club, who are reluctant to lose Bajrami.

With the transfer deadline looming, Clement and Rangers’ sporting director Nils Koppen will need to navigate these challenges carefully to secure their top targets without overspending.
