Rangers to Keep Jack Butland Unless £15 Million Offer Emerges

Rangers will only consider letting Jack Butland leave Ibrox this summer if a “ridiculous” offer of around £15 million arrives, , according to Stevie Clifford of the Four Lads Had a Dream podcast.

Clifford discussed the upcoming arrival of Motherwell goalkeeper Liam Kelly on a free transfer [Sky Sports]. He emphasized that Kelly will be the backup to Butland.

“I don’t see Jack Butland leaving this summer, I’m pretty confident that he’ll stay,” said Clifford. “That’s caveated if somebody slaps £15 million on the table. It’ll need to be north of £10 million for Rangers to be seriously considering it.”

“Kelly’s coming in to provide competition and backup,” Clifford continued. “He’s a no-brainer when it comes to second choice, but I’d be extremely surprised if Jack Butland isn’t number one at the start of the season unless a ridiculous offer comes in.”

While reports suggested Butland could be on his way out, Clifford believes the English goalkeeper will remain at Rangers next season, as long as a substantial offer doesn’t come through.
