Rangers Struggle to Offload Winger Scott Wright Amid Transfer Window Uncertainty

Rangers FC has yet to receive any concrete interest in winger Scott Wright during this summer transfer window, according to Chris Jack of the Rangers Review. Despite being offered to several lower-league English clubs, no substantial offers have materialized for the 27-year-old.

As the transfer window approaches its close on August 30, speculation has swirled around various Rangers players, with Wright among those most likely to leave Glasgow. The winger, who is now in the final year of his contract, started the 2024/25 season as a regular under manager Philippe Clement, featuring in matches against Hearts and Dynamo Kyiv. However, Wright has recently fallen down the pecking order, now trailing behind Václav Cerny, Rabbi Matondo, and Ross McCausland.

The club has reportedly set a £2 million price tag on Wright, but with only 12 goals and seven assists in 120 appearances, his departure might not be deeply felt. As the clock ticks down, it remains to be seen whether any club will meet Rangers’ valuation, or if the Light Blues will be forced to lower their asking price.

Other Rangers players, including Alex Lowry, Adam Devine, and Tom Lawrence, are also in the final year of their contracts and could be on the move if the club fails to secure funds to renew their deals. With uncertainty surrounding multiple squad members, no player at Ibrox seems guaranteed to stay as the transfer window’s deadline looms.
