Rangers Reject FC Utrecht Transfer Request for Sam Lammers, AZ Alkmaar Frontrunners

Sam Lammers’ potential summer transfer seems to have hit a roadblock as FC Utrecht have reportedly rejected his request, according to Dutch news outlet Telegraaf. While there was “intensive contact” between the clubs, Rangers have shut down the deal due to a valuation mismatch.

Lammers impressed during his loan spell at Utrecht, scoring 11 goals in 20 appearances. This strong performance seemingly attracted interest from AZ Alkmaar as well. With Utrecht out of the picture, AZ Alkmaar are now expected to make a formal bid of £2.5 million for the Dutch striker.

However, Rangers might hold out for a higher price considering Lammers’ resurgence. His consistent goal-scoring form in the Eredivisie strengthens his market value and could lead to a bidding war between interested clubs.
