Rangers Manager Philippe Clement Voices Concern Over Impending Departures

Philippe Clement expressed his dissatisfaction with the looming departure of six key Rangers players on a free transfer this summer. The departure of John Lundstram, Kemar Roofe, Leon Balogun, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, and Jon McLaughlin, all of whom are poised to see their contracts expire at the end of the season, has left Clement disheartened.

Clement, while addressing the situation, admitted to his disappointment regarding the uncertainty surrounding the players’ futures at Ibrox. He highlighted his concerns about the lack of progress in securing new deals for the departing players, despite his earnest desires to retain them in Glasgow.

In a statement quoted by journalist Matthew Lindsay, Clement articulated his frustration, stating, “There’s no reason to talk about anything. Because you can say it’s close or it’s far away. But you can never really talk about that. It’s close when it’s signed. When it’s not signed? Is it close or is it far? So there’s no reason to talk about those things until there’s an agreement.”

The departure of such integral members of the squad, including left-back Borna Barisic and midfielder John Lundstram, has raised concerns within the club. Interest from Turkish clubs has further complicated the situation, adding to Clement’s apprehension about the potential exodus of talent from Rangers.
