Rangers manager Philippe Clement may need to acquire up to 12 new players during the summer transfer window, asserts football pundit Roger Hannah.
With several players expected to depart Ibrox at the end of the season, including reported moves for John Lundstram and Borna Barisic to Trabzonspor, the Scottish Sun journalist Hannah believes this summer could prove costly for Rangers.
Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard on May 13, Hannah remarked, “The Rangers side of it, Philippe Clement does need reinforcements and many of them for various reasons. Loan signings will go back and guys out of contract won’t be kept on. The manager needs to be bankrolled, the question will not be how much money the Rangers board are willing to give Philippe Clement, how much money does the Rangers board actually have to give to Philippe Clement.”
He continued, “There will be others who will be sold, you could be looking at Rangers requiring 10 or 12 incoming players this summer.”
The comments underscore the potential magnitude of the summer transfer activity at Rangers, indicating a significant rebuilding phase as they aim to strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign.
