Rangers Loanee Fabio Silva Doesn’t Want Ibrox Return Next Season

Portuguese striker Fabio Silva appears unlikely to return to Rangers for the upcoming season. Silva spent the second half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Ibrox from Wolverhampton Wanderers but reportedly prefers a new challenge elsewhere, according to Caught Offside.

This news comes alongside reports that Wolves have made Silva available for transfer with a £20 million price tag. This hefty fee likely puts Rangers out of the running, especially considering their financial constraints.

Silva’s return to Ibrox permanently always seemed improbable. While Wolves initially invested heavily (£35 million) to acquire him from Porto, he hasn’t established himself there despite successful loan spells.

With significant squad changes expected under new manager Philippe Clement, Rangers will be prioritizing key areas for improvement. Even if Silva were interested in returning, his hefty price tag makes him an unrealistic target. The club will be actively exploring alternative options to bolster their attacking options for the upcoming season.
