Rangers have expressed interest in signing Manchester United’s 21-year-old midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, but securing a deal remains challenging, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in an exclusive interview with GIVEMESPORT.
Romano reports that Manchester United is keen on offloading the Tunisia international on a permanent basis this summer to generate funds for new signings. However, the Scottish giants face difficulties in finalizing a permanent transfer at the moment, although a reduced fee could be a possibility given Mejbri’s contract is set to expire in 11 months.
The talented midfielder, praised as “phenomenal” during his loan spell at Birmingham by John Eustace, is expected to leave Old Trafford before the transfer window closes on August 30. Interest from both Rangers and Celtic has intensified in recent weeks.
Romano indicates that Manchester United is unlikely to consider another loan move for Mejbri following his recent six-month stint at Sevilla, where he saw limited action. During his brief time in Spain, Mejbri made just six appearances and logged 101 minutes in La Liga.
As the transfer deadline approaches, the future of Hannibal Mejbri remains uncertain, with Rangers and Celtic closely monitoring the situation.
