Rangers Eye Loan Move for Chelsea Starlet Leo Castledine

Rangers are reportedly interested in securing a loan deal for Chelsea’s promising midfielder, Leo Castledine, during the current transfer window.

The highly sought-after 19-year-old has been on the radar of several English clubs following his contract extension at Stamford Bridge late last year. Sources indicate that Rangers are keen to bring Castledine to Ibrox on a season-long loan. However, Chelsea is said to prefer a loan arrangement without an option-to-buy clause.

“Rangers are looking at Leo Castledine for a loan spell,” reported Football Scotland. “Chelsea, on the other hand, seem inclined towards a straightforward loan without any future purchase option.”

Castledine made his first-team debut under former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino in last season’s EFL Cup and was also a nominee for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season.

As the transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on whether Rangers can successfully bring Castledine north of the border and how Smith’s international career unfolds.
