Rangers Eye Free Transfer for Former Wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon

Rangers are reportedly interested in signing left-back Ryan Sessegnon on a free transfer after his release from Tottenham Hotspur, according to HITC.

The 24-year-old is attracting plenty of attention with Premier League sides Fulham, Leeds United, and West Ham also linked. Sessegnon’s contract with Spurs expired at the end of the season, making him a free agent.

Sessegnon was once a highly-rated prospect, winning individual awards during Fulham’s promotion to the Premier League. He scored an impressive 16 goals in his final Championship season, earning him a move to Tottenham in 2019. However, his time at Spurs was plagued by injuries and limited playing opportunities. He managed only 57 appearances across all competitions, with a disappointing loan spell at Hoffenheim in Germany.

A move to Rangers could be mutually beneficial. The Gers are in need of defensive reinforcements following the departures of Borna Barisic and a potential exit for James Tavernier. Sessegnon’s attacking potential and versatility could be a valuable addition to the squad, offering a fresh start to reignite his career.
