Rangers Closing in on Loan Deal for RC Lens Winger Oscar Cortes

Rangers manager Philippe Clement appears to be on the verge of securing another promising addition to his squad as RC Lens winger Oscar Cortes is reportedly en route to Glasgow for a potential loan deal.

In what has already been an active January transfer window for Rangers, with the acquisitions of Fabio Silva and Mohamed Diomande, the Ibrox side seems determined to bolster its ranks further. Silva joined on loan from Wolves, while Diomande, a highly-regarded midfielder from FC Nordsjaelland, is expected to contribute significantly in the coming years.

Reports suggest that Rangers have reached an agreement with RC Lens for the loan signing of Colombian winger Oscar Cortes for the remainder of the season. According to journalist Julian Capera, the deal includes an option for Rangers to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.

It is reported that Cortes has already embarked on his journey to Glasgow, where he is expected to complete the necessary formalities, undergo a medical examination, and officially become a Light Blues player.

Oscar Cortes, who joined Lens from Colombian outfit Millonarios in the summer, has seen limited action in Ligue 1, accumulating only 40 minutes of playing time. However, the 20-year-old made a notable impact, contributing with one goal and an assist in the top-flight. His first goal came against Stade Rennais in December, and he provided an assist in Lens’ 4-0 victory over Nantes in October.
