Rangers Close to Signing Midfielder Connor Barron and Goalkeeper Liam Kelly, Reports Sky Sports

Rangers are set to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season with the signings of midfielder Connor Barron and goalkeeper Liam Kelly.

Barron, a 21-year-old central midfielder, is available on a free transfer after his contract with Aberdeen expired. According to Sky Sports, he had attracted interest from clubs in England and Italy. However, Rangers appear to have won the race for his signature after successful negotiations. Barron made a significant contribution to Aberdeen last season, featuring in 42 matches.

Liam Kelly is expected to become manager Philippe Clement’s fourth summer signing, following the arrivals of Jefte, Oscar Corters, and Clinton Nsiala. The 28-year-old goalkeeper is currently with the Scotland national team at the Euros. He is also out of contract with his previous club, Motherwell, where he played 43 times last season after joining from QPR. Kelly’s arrival will provide competition for Rangers’ current number one goalkeeper, Jack Butland.
