According to sources at Football Insider, Rangers are in the final stages of securing the £3 million acquisition of Atalanta striker Sam Lammers. The deal for the 26-year-old Dutch international is believed to be nearly complete, with a bid accepted, and Lammers is expected to be one of the next players to join the squad at Ibrox.
Rangers manager Michael Beale sees Lammers as an ideal replacement for the departing Alfredo Morelos. Lammers joined Atalanta in 2020 but has spent a considerable amount of time out on loan. Last season, he had a loan spell at fellow Serie A side Sampdoria, where he made 20 appearances across all competitions, contributing one goal and one assist.
The imminent arrival of Lammers, however, has not deterred Beale from continuing the search for another striker. Football Insider has learned that the Gers are actively looking to bolster their attacking options with an additional goalscorer. Just yesterday, it was revealed that Rangers are pursuing a deal for Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers, and talks with the forward have already begun.
Dessers has been on Rangers’ radar for some time, and it is believed that a sum of £5 million could secure his signature this summer. Despite netting ten goals in 32 appearances for Cremonese this season, Dessers was unable to prevent the club from suffering relegation. As a result, Cremonese are looking to reduce costs, making a transfer more feasible for interested parties.

The potential additions of Lammers and Dessers would further enhance Rangers’ busy transfer window. The club, under the guidance of Michael Beale, has already confirmed the signings of Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, and Jack Butland, signaling their intent to strengthen the squad ahead of the upcoming season.
