Rangers Boss Philippe Clement bemoans Injury Crisis, Vows Squad Rebuild

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has admitted he needs a significant squad overhaul next season after revealing a staggering eleven first-team players will miss their match against Dundee tomorrow.

Injuries have plagued the Light Blues’ campaign, with key players like Danilo and Oscar Cortes ruled out for long periods. Others, including Kemar Roofe and Tom Lawrence, have battled persistent niggles. These issues have undeniably impacted Rangers’ title challenge as they trail Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.

Clement acknowledged the need for change, stating, “We have 11 players missing tomorrow, this is a major thing that we need to change heading into next season. There is going to be a turnaround in the squad this season, we have been working hard on this for months.”

The manager’s selection woes worsened after the recent Old Firm derby against Celtic. John Souttar was forced off injured at halftime, while John Lundstram received a red card, leaving both unavailable. Dujon Sterling and Tom Lawrence are the latest additions to the casualty list following the defeat.

Clement confirmed the extensive absentee list: “Souttar, Goldson, Balogun, Sterling, Lundstram, Lawrence, Cortes, Matondo, Sima, Danilo & Rice will all be missing for tomorrow.”

Rangers will be forced to field a depleted squad against Dundee as they look to end their season on a positive note.
