Pundit Asserts Rangers Star is ‘Heading for the Exit’

Viaplay Sports pundit Stephen Craigan has hinted at the imminent departure of Rangers’ Borna Barisic, citing a clear indication from the club’s manager, Philippe Clement.

During the channel’s live coverage of Rangers’ 2-0 victory over Ayr United in the Scottish Cup on February 10, Craigan expressed his views on Barisic’s future. The Croatian defender, aged 31, who opened the scoring with a deflected strike in the game, may be on his way out as his contract approaches expiration. Craigan pointed out that Ridvan Yilmaz has now taken precedence in the starting lineup under Clement.

Speaking at half-time (6:35 pm), Craigan stated, “It’s a hard one because it looks as if Borna Barisic is heading for the exit door, doesn’t it? Out of contract, Yilmaz has played the majority of games since Philippe Clement came in. So the writing’s on the wall. However, you still have a duty when you get the chance to play to go and perform.”

Craigan acknowledged Barisic’s contributions, describing him as a reliable player with a remarkable left foot. He added, “Borna Barisic has been a reliable player. He’s got a wonderful left foot, of course he has. He’s doing okay. He’s doing fine. But longer-term where will he be? Certainly, he’ll be trying to claim that goal tonight.”

As speculations surround Barisic’s future at Ibrox, Rangers fans eagerly await official statements from the club regarding contract negotiations and player transfers.
