Former player Kris Boyd voiced strong criticism towards Fabio Silva for his lack of impact despite the team’s win.
The match at St Mirren Park saw Philippe Clement’s side in need of a win, and things initially looked promising as Dujon Sterling’s effort led to a James Bolton own goal. However, the lead was short-lived, with Mikael Mandron equalizing with a header past Jack Butland. It was Cyriel Dessers who secured the victory for Rangers with a straightforward header, marking his 20th goal of the season.
Boyd’s critique of Silva came during his appearance on Sky Sports Football on the same day. He remarked, “Fabio Silva, what has he done? What has he done? It is another 50-60 minutes where you think to yourself you haven’t done much again.”
Boyd’s comments underline his disappointment with Silva’s performance, suggesting that the loanee failed to make a significant impact during the game for the Light Blues.
The Portuguese forward joined Glasgow in January on loan from Wolves until the end of the season. Silva has scored only four goals for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership, which has been disappointing.

He has often faced criticism for going down too easily and faced scrutiny again for asking for a penalty. Despite starting, Clement substituted him after just 29 touches in 56 minutes for Ross McCausland.
Although he had a 71 per cent pass accuracy, he failed to complete any dribbles or shots on target, indicating his performance was not up to par going forward.
