Journalist Names Three Players Who Could Leave Rangers in Summer

Chris Jack revealed that Ben Davies, Leon Balogun, and Leon King might all be on their way out of Rangers this summer, with the aim of reinforcing and fortifying the team’s defensive lineup.

Jack, who spoke exclusively to The Rangers Review on 21st February, emphasized the potential departures of Davies and King, citing their limited playing time as a determining factor. Additionally, he highlighted that a crucial decision awaits regarding Balogun’s contract, pending a resolution on whether the club can secure transfer fees for the players in question.

Addressing the situation, Jack stated, “It’s an area the manager will probably look to address come the summer. Ben Davies has not played that often under [Philippe] Clement; he’s had his fitness issues.”

He continued, “He looks like one of the guys that, come the summer, you’d take the fee back, reinvest the wages and look to strengthen in that position. Leon King is down the pecking order; I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he moves on. Balogun, he’s one of the ones up for debate in terms of a contract.”

Jack further explained, “I think if you went into next season with Goldson and Souttar as your starting centre-halves, you could either add to it and bring in someone better or bring in someone to provide competition there.”

The potential departure of these players could pave the way for Rangers to recoup fees, providing the financial flexibility to either enhance the current defensive duo of Connor Goldson and John Souttar or secure a reliable backup for the upcoming season.
