Journalist Names How Many Players Philippe Clement Could Sign for Rangers This Summer

Rangers manager Philippe Clement is set to embark on a significant squad overhaul this summer, with reports suggesting a complete revamp on and off the pitch at Ibrox.

Several new faces are expected to arrive, with Jose Cordoba tipped to be the first confirmed signing. Talks with Brazilian left-back Jefte are reportedly close to completion, while Liam Kelly is said to be returning to the club on a free transfer from Motherwell.

With the transfer window still closed, speculation is already rife about Clement’s plans. According to respected journalist Chris Jack, speaking on the Rangers Review’s morning briefing, the Rangers boss could be targeting as many as 12 new signings.

“It’s going to be a stream of names linked with the club,” Jack said, responding to a question from Derek Clark about the recent transfer rumors. “Some will turn out to be true, but I think Rangers will be actively looking to bring in around a dozen players. There’s easily going to be a hundred names linked in the coming weeks.”

The need for a significant rebuild is partly fueled by the departure of six players whose contracts are expiring. Additionally, several other players are expected to leave the club.

Jefte’s imminent arrival is seen as a logical move, considering how close a deal for the defender was reported to be in January.

Clement, who took charge in mid-October 2023, will be looking to build a squad capable of challenging for major honors next season.
