Journalist Criticizes Todd Cantwell for Disrespecting Rangers

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Dan Bardell has accused Todd Cantwell of showing disrespect towards Rangers as the midfielder pushes for a move away from the club. Throughout the summer transfer window, Cantwell has been linked with a departure from Ibrox, and it appears that a move to Blackburn Rovers is the most likely outcome.

Alan Nixon, a well-known football insider, dismissed recent rumors on 30 August suggesting that Coventry City were interested in signing Cantwell. Instead, it seems that Blackburn Rovers are leading the race to secure the 26-year-old’s services. According to the Daily Record, a six-figure fee has reportedly been agreed upon for the former Norwich City player, who has made no secret of his desire to leave Rangers.

Bardell, speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, did not hold back in his criticism of Cantwell’s actions. “He’s made it clear that he doesn’t want to be at Rangers and has been disrespectful after Rangers took him on and helped rebuild his career,” Bardell said. He further commented on Cantwell’s potential move, noting that, “Coventry would be a better move for him than Blackburn, but it looks unlikely now. They’ve become a really stable Championship club.”

Bardell also emphasized the impact of Cantwell’s behavior on the club and its supporters. “It would be a great move for Cantwell, but he has certainly disrespected the manager and the Rangers fans,” he added.

As the summer transfer window nears its close, Cantwell’s future remains uncertain, but Bardell’s remarks have certainly added to the controversy surrounding the player’s conduct.
