John Lundstram Wanted in Rangers Transfer Double Swoop as Trabzonspor Eye up Duo

Trabzonspor is reportedly eyeing a double swoop for Rangers players, as indicated by reports emerging from Turkey.

According to sources, the Super Lig outfit has set its sights on left-back Borna Barisic, who is nearing the conclusion of his contract with Rangers. Croatian defender had received a lucrative contract offer from the Turkish side. Despite conflicting reports suggesting a deal was imminent or already finalized, it’s been revealed that Barisic is still deliberating over his future options.

Meanwhile, Trabzonspor’s interest extends to another Rangers player, John Lundstram, whose contract is also set to expire this summer. Reports from Akdeniz Gerçek indicate that the Turkish club is keen on acquiring the midfielder on a free transfer. Although Rangers manager Phillipe Clement has expressed his desire to retain the services of the 30-year-old, negotiations might prove challenging due to Lundstram’s high wage demands. Discussions have reportedly commenced between Lundstram and Trabzonspor, with the latter expected to pursue the player until the end of the season.

Lundstram has emerged as a key performer for Rangers under the management of Philippe Clement, following a brief slump in form during Michael Beale’s tenure earlier in the season. Signed as a free agent by Steven Gerrard in 2021, the English midfielder quickly endeared himself to the Rangers faithful, becoming a fan favorite within a short span of time.
