John Lundstram Has Reportedly Reached a Preliminary Agreement with Trabzonspor

Rangers midfielder John Lundstram has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Turkish club Trabzonspor for a summer transfer, as per Fotomac.

According to the Turkish newspaper’s print edition, the English midfielder is set to make a four-year commitment upon the expiration of his contract at Ibrox. Lundstram, aged 30, will sign a three-year deal with the option of extending for a further year.

Initially anticipated as a two-year contract with an option for a third, the new agreement represents a longer commitment than initially expected.

Lundstram has been a key figure in Rangers’ first team this season but has not shown any inclination towards extending his stay. With his departure imminent, Rangers can now redirect the funds they would have spent on his contract renewal towards recruiting a new midfielder, potentially injecting fresh talent and energy into the squad.

The club may explore the free agent market as a cost-effective way to strengthen their midfield, enabling them to remain competitive within their financial constraints.

Furthermore, the addition of a new signing could rejuvenate the team’s dynamics and address any tactical deficiencies, potentially leading to improved performances and results in the seasons ahead.
