Jeff Stelling Takes Pop at Philippe Clement’s Side in Celtic Title Race Verdict

Jeff Stelling has expressed his unwavering belief in the team’s capability to clinch the Scottish Premiership title this season, despite acknowledging it as “not vintage”.

Stelling’s remarks come in the wake of Rangers’ sixth defeat of the campaign, which occurred on Sunday, April 14, marking a setback for Philipps Clement’s squad. The Gers’ 3-2 loss away at Ross County places them four points behind Celtic, with an additional game in hand and a crucial fixture against their rivals at Parkhead looming on the horizon.

In an interview on talkSPORT Breakfast on April 15th, at 07:06, Stelling commented on Rangers’ position, stating, “It’s a body blow as far as Rangers are concerned. Of course they can [still win the title]. They’re four points adrift with a game in hand and seven games still to play. But they’ve lost half a dozen times this season, not just to Ross County but to Motherwell, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock. This season’s not been vintage, even though they’re in the title race.”

Despite Rangers’ six losses in 32 league games, indicating a defeat every five matches, it’s noteworthy that half of these occurred during Michael Beale’s early tenure.

Under Clement’s leadership, however, the team experienced a resurgence, catapulting them back into title contention and positioning them as favorites for the championship.
