Newly-promoted Ipswich Town are set to challenge Turkish side Trabzonspor for the signing of Rangers midfielder John Lundstram, according to The Scottish Sun.
Lundstram’s contract expires at the end of the season, and with Philippe Clement keen to keep him at Ibrox, there haven’t been any signs of a contract extension. Ipswich’s promotion to the Premier League adds another layer of complication, potentially swaying Lundstram away from staying in Scotland.
Trabzonspor were previously linked with a move for Lundstram’s teammate Borna Barisic, which could influence his decision. The 30-year-old midfielder has been a key player for Rangers this season, starting most matches under Clement.
Leading Rangers to their second league title in a decade could be a fitting farewell for Lundstram, who joined the club from Sheffield United in 2021. However, Ipswich’s Premier League offer might be too tempting to turn down.
