Galatasaray Denies Deal with Ianis Hagi Amid Transfer Speculation

Galatasaray has refuted claims of any agreement with Ianis Hagi from Rangers, according to statements made by Emanuel Rosu, a prominent Romanian journalist.

Rosu, known for his work with esteemed outlets such as the BBC and the Guardian, took to Twitter on Sunday (31 March) to dismiss reports circulating from Turkish news source Fotomac, branding them as “fake news”. He emphasized that negotiations between the Turkish club and the Romanian international have not commenced, despite rumors fueled by Hagi’s familial ties to the Istanbul-based team, where his father, Gheorghe Hagi, once played.

“It’s important to clarify that there have been no talks regarding Ianis Hagi joining Galatasaray,” stated Rosu, shedding light on the situation. “While there’s admiration for him due to his father’s legacy, no concrete discussions have taken place.”

The news comes amidst speculation over Hagi’s future, as the 25-year-old currently plies his trade on loan with La Liga side Alaves. However, securing a regular starting spot has proven challenging for the winger during his stint in Spain.

Although a permanent departure from Rangers wouldn’t be entirely unforeseen, recent reports suggesting an imminent move may have jumped the gun, hinting at a possible continuation of Hagi’s journey with the Scottish club.
