Derek Ferguson Suggests Bayern Munich’s Yusuf Kabadayi as Potential Replacement for Abdallah Sima at Rangers

Former Rangers player Derek Ferguson has suggested that Bayern Munich youngster Yusuf Kabadayi could be brought in as a replacement for Abdallah Sima.

Sima impressed on loan at Ibrox last season, scoring 16 goals, but a decision on his future is yet to be made by his parent club Brighton & Hove Albion following the appointment of their new manager Fabian Hurzeler.

According to reports, Rangers have agreed a fee with Bayern Munich for Kabadayi, who is just 20 years old and has limited senior experience in the German second tier. However, Ferguson believes he has the potential to succeed at Ibrox.

“I don’t think Schalke had a great season, but the boy performed pretty well,” Ferguson told Ibrox News. “Again I think we’re talking about pace and power, and he’s at Bayern. Like Nsiala, you’re not at these clubs like AC Milan and Bayern Munich if you’re not a very good football player.”

Ferguson added: “He’s got a wee eye for goal as well that I’ve heard. A six foot-plus wide man, when he’s been described to me he seems a little bit like Sima. I’d love to keep Sima. I don’t think we will. So if he’s maybe one of the guys that they’re thinking could be the replacement, why not?”
