Cyriel Dessers Set to Stay at Rangers Despite Transfer Speculation

Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers is expected to remain at Ibrox beyond the 30 August transfer deadline, according to journalist Chris Jack. Despite ongoing transfer rumors, Jack reported on Monday (26 August) via YouTube that the Nigerian forward is “going absolutely nowhere,” even if Rangers receive an offer that meets their asking price.

Speaking on the Rangers Review Morning Briefing, Jack emphasized Dessers’ contentment in Glasgow, stating, “Big Cyriel by all accounts is going absolutely nowhere. Even if Rangers do get an offer that they think matches his value, he seems really happy here.”

Dessers, who has reportedly turned down a move to MLS side Atlanta United earlier in the transfer window, appears committed to staying with Rangers. Jack added, “The manager again referenced that on Saturday. He’s such a big player to the squad now that it’s a bigger call to sell him than not sell him. Rangers can’t actually now afford to sell Cyriel Dessers.”

With the transfer deadline fast approaching, it seems increasingly likely that Dessers will remain an integral part of the Rangers squad for the upcoming season.
