Barry Ferguson Urges Two Changes in Rangers Starting Line-Up for Old Firm Derby Against Celtic

Barry Ferguson emphasized his hopes for Ridvan Yilmaz and Dujon Sterling to be included from the outset, suggesting Borna Barisic and Scott Wright be sidelined, provided the former duo is deemed fit enough.

Yilmaz, who sustained an injury while on international duty with Turkey, was absent during Rangers’ recent 3-1 victory over Hibernian. Sterling, on the other hand, marked his return from the sidelines during that match, contributing an assist after coming on as a substitute.

In his column for the Daily Record, Ferguson outlined his preferred lineup for the derby, stating, “As a matter of fact, I’ve already picked my starting XI for Sunday assuming that they’re all fit and ready. Jack Butland in goal, James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, John Souttar, and Ridvan Yilmaz across the back.”

He continued, “John Lundstram and Mohamed Diomande at the heart of midfield with Dujon Sterling, Todd Cantwell, and Fabio Silva behind Cyriel Dessers who might just have a big moment in him this weekend after working so hard to win over the supporters.”

The anticipation builds as Rangers gear up for the crucial showdown against their arch-rivals, with Ferguson’s insights adding further intrigue to the managerial decisions ahead of the highly anticipated encounter.
