Ally McCoist has called for changes to the starting lineup, with midfielder Ianis Hagi potentially in line for a return.
Speaking on TNT Sports’ live coverage, McCoist suggested that Hagi “would certainly start in my side ahead of one or two this evening.” While acknowledging Hagi’s talent, he also raised concerns about his recent form and adaptability, citing his loan spell at Deportivo Alaves in the summer, where he managed just one assist in 10 league games.
“I’m just trying to give you an honest answer. No getting away from it,” McCoist stated.
Despite McCoist’s critique of Sam Lammers and Jose Cifuentes, the presumed players in question, some analysts suggest that relying solely on Hagi’s return may not be the best solution. Given his past struggles and injury-prone nature, a more comprehensive approach might be more beneficial.
Instead of placing all their eggs in the Hagi basket, Rangers could explore alternative options and strategically address current challenges to strengthen the squad and overcome existing hurdles.
