Abdallah Sima Makes Rangers Return as Philippe Clement Confirms Four in and Four Out

Philippe Clement confirmed that four key players have returned to training following their recovery from injuries.

Addressing the gathered press, Clement revealed that Abdallah Sima, along with Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell, and Ross McCausland, have all resumed training sessions. This development comes as a relief for the Rangers camp, which has faced challenges due to several players being sidelined with injuries in recent months.

“Sterling, Dowell, Sima, and McCausland are back in training,” Clement stated, highlighting the significance of their return to fitness.

While Sima’s return after a prolonged absence raises hopes for his potential involvement in the upcoming fixture against Hibs, Clement emphasized that the extent of his participation remains to be seen. However, the manager expressed optimism about the progress made by the on-loan Brighton forward.

“McCausland and Sterling have both been out for a shorter time but can provide more options in wide areas with Oscar Cortes out long term and Sima still working his way back to full fitness,” Clement explained, underlining the importance of having additional options in the squad.

Moreover, the return of Dowell, who has been sidelined as a long-term absentee, adds depth to the midfield options for Clement’s side, further strengthening their lineup.

Providing updates on other players’ injury statuses, Clement clarified that Ridvan Yilmaz’s injury is not considered long term, despite his recent withdrawal from the Turkey squad. The left-back’s potential availability for the upcoming Celtic game remains uncertain, with Clement indicating that Yilmaz’s progress will be closely monitored in the coming days.

“Ridvan is not long-term, but we will see next week,” Clement stated, hinting at the possibility of Yilmaz’s return to action in the near future.
