Alan Pardew Shares Rangers Admission Ahead of Europa League Tie

Ahead of the highly anticipated Europa League clash between Rangers and Tottenham on Thursday, Alan Pardew has weighed in on the form of the Scottish side, suggesting that they haven’t been “brilliant” this season.

Rangers are currently sitting third in the Scottish Premiership, just two points behind second-placed Aberdeen, following a dominant 3-0 victory over Ross County on December 8. However, Pardew, who was speaking live on talkSPORT, remains unconvinced by their overall performance this campaign.

“Fortunately for Spurs, they’re not a brilliant side this season, but they’ve found a decent run of form recently,” Pardew remarked on the radio show, acknowledging Rangers’ recent improvement despite their inconsistency throughout the year.

The upcoming match will also mark the return of Ange Postecoglou to Ibrox for the first time since leaving Celtic. Pardew predicts a hostile reception for the Australian manager, given his previous success with Rangers’ bitter rivals.

“You can imagine the reception he’s going to get there [Ibrox],” Pardew said, hinting at the intensity of the atmosphere that Postecoglou will face.
